Committed to the Prosperity of Our Community

6 ways GreyStone Animal Hospital gives back to the Rome, NY and surrounding community

  1. Vaccine Clinic – Designed to help low income families in our community keep their pets current with vaccines. Held the first Saturday of each month from 11a.m. until 1p.m. No office fee is required.
  2. Heartworm /Lyme Screen Clinic – These clinics are held twice yearly in the spring (April and May) to screen for heartworm and tick illness. Usually at a discount price when purchasing heartworm prevention and tick and flea control products. No office fee is required for these clinics. Vaccination against Lyme disease is available at these clinics. The clinics are held on a Saturday and run from 10a.m. until 1p.m.
  3. Feral Cat program- Dr. Falk developed the program in 2002 for the sole purpose of controlling the population of unwanted wild cats. Dr. Falk has spayed and neutered many feral cats in Oneida, Herkimer, and Lewis counties and still continues to do so. The cats are altered, ear is tipped and a rabies vaccine is administered. The cats are then released to the area in which they were captured.
  4. Kids Camp – Are a summer adventure that gives children from 2nd to 5th grade and 6th to 8th grade an opportunity to explore the inner workings of the veterinary hospital and are taught real skills to help peak interest in Veterinary Medicine.
  5. Dancing Grass Farm is the Falk Family Farm. The farm houses “throw away” horses that are no longer able to perform for the previous owner. Horses come to Dancing Grass Farm to live out their lives. There are currently six retired horses in the barn.
  6. Intern Hospital- GreyStone Animal Hospital works in conjunction with local High Schools and Boces to help intern their students. Helping these students experience the Veterinary Hospital setting is important for the future of Veterinary Medicine.
